A few words on the project…
The project consists in constructing drinking water tanks corresponding to a storage for 7 days in water demand in 2035 in order to secure the water supply of about 1.2 million inhabitants of the city of Muscat in case of failure of the two main desalination plants supplying the governorate.
The building volumes are of the order of 2.2 million m3. The storage units proposed are between 15,000 and 50,000 m3 and are spread over 16 strategic locations in the city. The whole system is integrated into the SCADA system of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water.
